About Correspondence From Pester Flatt

We first began receiving correspondence from Pester Flatt in early February of 2004. In Pester's first letter, he advised us that his Bluegrass band was traveling on their bus through Northern Kentucky early one Sunday evening, and they happened to pick up the broadcast of Music From The Hills Of Home. He said that the boys in the band really liked the kind of music we were playing, so he thought he'd drop us a line and express his appreciation. He went on to explain that since everyone in his band was left handed, he had originally billed the group as "Pester Flatt and The Lefties". He soon discovered that the "Lefties" band name was causing him to lose gigs at VFW and K of C functions, so he changed the name to "Pester Flatt and The Rarely Paid". We've never met Pester and we've never heard a performance by his band, but we sure have enjoyed receiving his letters and sharing them with our listeners. If you click on the links at the left, you can take a look at all of Pester's cards and letters. We too are sorry about the coffee stains. And honestly, we really don't know who Pester is.
