weaving for the past 18 years. She began teaching spinning, weaving, dyeing
and fiber preparation in 1990. For the past several years she has presented
workshops, lectures, demonstrations and retreats on all these fiber related
topics plus more. Jill’s background is in art, psychology and business
and her working career has encompassed all three. Currently she shares
the operation of an antique shop and spinning and weaving center with her
husband of 19 years. In addition to business and teaching commitments,
Jill writes for a number of major fiber magazines. Articles on herbs, gardening
and design have been published.

S121 SPINNING SILK CAPS AND BRICKS Saturday Morning Mini-Session, 9:00 – 11:30 We will review the drafting and preparation for spinning silk caps and cover the best techniques for spinning silk based on the type of wheel each person is using. Then we will follow the same procedure with the silk bricks. Each person will receive one silk cap and we will share silk bricks. Supplies: A wheel in good working order.
S319 THE PERFECT GARDEN FOR THE FIBER PRODUCER Sunday Morning Mini-Session, 9:00 – 11:30 In this seminar we will discuss dye plants and multiple use plants, their needs as per soil, sun, water, etc. Then we will draft out a garden plan to best suit the needs of the plants and the yard space of each person. Each participant will receive print-outs of plants under discussion and drafting paper to do garden layouts. Supplies: A ruler; pencil; colored
pencils.
